“Stua da legn”: incredibly cosy, incomparably good

Flickering candles on our lovingly laid tables bathe the rustic wooden room in a wonderful light. “Stua da legn”, wooden room, that’s the name of our restaurant in Livigno. Is there a better place than this to spend a romantic evening for two or an unforgettable evening in good company? I don’t think so. The rustic wooden parlour with its panelled walls, the slightly creaking wooden floor, and the large tiled stove, which provides pleasant warmth in the cold season, takes you back to times long gone. To a time when family life took place in the rooms of simple farmhouses. Here, after work was done, the extended families would gather around the large table in front of the oven to enjoy a meal and drink at the end of the day.

Back to the roots: our cookery skills

Times have changed, but the “Stua da legn” has remained the heart of our hotel in Livigno. Here locals and holidaymakers come together for a snack or a candlelight dinner. Our unique delicacies are as traditional as the ambience and are sure to delight you with their abundance of flavours. Tempting dishes are conjured up from local food from Livigno or the Valtellina valley. Have you ever tried our Pizzoccheri, homemade ribbon noodles made from chestnut flour with game stew, venison stew in rye bread crust, or blueberry cake? Such a symphony of flavours is perfected by a suitable wine accompaniment. In our wine cellar countless fine wines from all regions of Italy and the world are waiting to be discovered and tasted by you.

Fondue in all variations: our speciality

Fondue is the essence of cosy evenings in good company, and our “Stua da legn” is the embodiment of the best fondue in Valtellina. You can choose between the classic Fondue Bourguignonne or the light version, the Fondue Chinoise. The meat comes from local farmers as does the Casera cheese, which is the basis ingredient for the delicate cheese fondue. Do you fancy a cosy fondue evening or a reason to celebrate? Depending on availability you can book our “Stua da legn” for your private party or dinner. The restaurant “Stua da legn” can accommodate up to 24 people. It is open from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m..
